  • Git-native — your factbook is one file in your repo: versioned, diffable, reviewable in a PR
  • Factbook grounding — every answer cites your factbook, with provenance
  • Booster — reads your stack and grounds the model before you ask
  • The Engineering Pack — role-by-role engineering skills, from idea to launch
  • Nightly consolidation — automatically dedupes and de-conflicts your factbook on your machine, no network
  • IDE extensions + the Dashboard, plus the CLI and local MCP server
  • Emits steering files for VS Code, Kiro, Cursor, Claude, and Copilot
  • No Desktop app · no cloud sync · no harness · no Inspector
"One curl, one scan, and Claude Code stopped inventing our retry policy."

Free uses your IDE's built-in model or a local proxy. Nora makes no outbound calls — zero bytes leave your machine.

  • Nora Desktop — the native app, with per-repo chat history that survives restart
  • Inspector — verifies your work after the fact: a per-PR conformance check on your own repo
  • Build and Sweep harness — a goal-loop runner that drives the Engineering Pack to done
  • Nora Agent SDK — build your own agents on Nora (early access)
  • Opt-in cloud sync to your S3 and the mcp.kernora.ai relay — off by default
  • Bring your own keys for Claude, OpenAI, and Gemini, stored in your Keychain
  • Advanced curation — factbook layering and cross-project consolidation

Cloud sync is off by default — a Pro install stays local-and-git-only until you turn it on.

FAQ

Questions before you pick a tier.

What does BYOK mean, and what does it cost me?

+
Bring Your Own Key, available from Pro. You provide your Claude / OpenAI / Gemini API keys for the calls Nora makes itself. Kernora bills $0 for tokens — you pay the vendor directly, so spend stays on your vendor invoice where you can see it. Free needs no key at all: it runs on your IDE's own model.

Why is paid invite-only right now?

+
We onboard paid users in cohorts so we can work closely with each one and tighten the sync and verify flow against real work. Pro is $19/mo with the first month free. Team and Enterprise start with a conversation — request access or contact us.

Where is my data stored?

+
On your device by default. Nora Free never leaves the machine — local MCP only, no relay, no outbound calls. Pro and Team add opt-in cloud sync to your own S3 (your AWS account, your KMS keys), off by default — a paid install stays local-and-git-only until you opt in. Paying never silently moves your factbook off your laptop.

What if I don't have a Claude API key?

+
You don't need one for Free. Nora Free runs on your IDE's built-in model — VS Code, Kiro, Claude, or a local/enterprise proxy you already have. The factbook grounding and the citation chips work the same whatever the host model is. Pro adds your own keys for Claude, OpenAI, and Gemini for the calls Nora makes itself.

How is this different from ChatGPT Plus or Claude Pro?

+
ChatGPT and Claude tie you to one vendor and one memory store. Nora grounds every answer in your factbook so the model does not fabricate about your team, and emits the same factbook into Cursor, Copilot, Claude Code, and Kiro. The factbook is yours — exports, lives in your repo, survives the vendor.

Can I cancel?

+
Free never expires. Pro accounts can be wound down at any time — no annual contract. Your .nora/ factbook stays in your git repo whether you stay or leave.
